 I found these little guys to be pretty cute as well as interesting. Shot on Siesta Key beach with my Nikon D80 and VR 70-300 mm lens. Editing: pretty basic- contrast, clarify, curves, and some saturation in paint shot pro. I was going to use the photo titled "Regatta" in my portfolio, but i liked this one better, it was more fun. I really hope it does well, im praying for a 6.2, but don't see it happening, especially on a free study. :)

Very nice capture of the birds. I think the idea of leaving the legs in the shot was brilliant. I'm sure I would have cropped them out, and that's why your photo scored 6.5 while mine scored 5.5. Congratulation on a good shot, and a good score and placement.

Right then, joke's on me as I now have to plough through 564 images and bump them all (yes, all of them) up. There'll be a third run through for fine tuning. It's day two now and I'm running late, sorry.
