Ooohhhh!! The eyes are unbelievable! I don't usually find things 'cute,' but this is heart-melting! :) The soft focus works beautifully here.

Greetings from the Critique Club:

This is a very good shot of this dog and a good example of soft focus. The technique and tones are very good. However, I think the image would be improved if there was a little more shadow detail (in the dark fur). Also, there's some overexposed areas on the nose, but I don't find that to be significant here aesthetically.

General aesthetics are excellent. The expression and capture is good enough to make us all care for this dog who we don't know. That's perhaps the most significant accomplish here. A picture that appeals to many.

I'm not one to generally enjoy pet photos, but this is very well captured and uses soft focus wonderfully. Good choice of depth of field as well.

I am sure that the anti pet brigade will be out in full force but for this viewer your image meets the challenge, is lovely (and soft) and very expressive

beautiful dog and tones. with this composition, it's one of my favorites in this challenge - the empty space on the right gives the dog room to gaze into, and the soft focus provides a "dreamy" effect that's very suitable for this shot. creative.
