 The restaurant on the left is San Francisco's Tadich Grill, which claims to be the oldest restaurant in California. On the right is Perbacco, one of the newest. I applied the colored pencil filter to the left side of the image to give it an old time feel, and used the dry brush on the right going for a more modern look.

I'm using Elements 3, so I could not drag the selection to match the curved lines created by my fisheye lens ... I'm sure some voters will notice and mark me down because of it, but I'm hoping that will escape the attention of most of the 10-second voters!

I didn't notice the guys walking into and out of the image when I snapped this, but really think they make the image. Unfortunately they are both a bit blurry due to slow shutter speed, which is why I came up with the idea to use the artistic filters to give this image a more graphic appeal.

Other adjustments (all in Elements 3): Levels> Hue> USM> Aristic Filters> USM> Resize> Border> USM> Save for Web

Interested to see how this was filtered -- my first guess involves Find Edges. Clever use of ultra-wide angle.

I definately like how you used the lens, but IMO the left side doesn't look old to me.
