This was shot through the car window while my husband and I drove through this storm and blowing snow. The wind really was blowing at about 50 miles an hour, and while I would have preferred photographing someone who seemed to be having a rougher time walking in the storm, this guy was the only brave soul we could find walking around outside at all that day.

Thanks for the kind comments, everyone!

Ww, excellent photo.
Really strong, should be on the front page at least.
This really stands out above any other shot in this challenge.

I give this a 10 and hope it does very well. So many times it seems b&w is used to make a poor photo artistic, and worse, the conversion to b&w is often flat. This b&w seems fully integrated and necessary. The lone figure, the road sign, the flag, power lines, etc., and all that blowing white -- wow!

You've really managed to capture the essence of a late winter storm. Swirling snow is nicely captured. 8

Great capture! Love it! The blown out highlights (was this intentional? my guess is not) and yellow toning really add to the dynamism and energy of this image, as does the flag and black sky. The speed limit sign adds a touch of irony in that it really refers to wind speed, and not to it's usual designation.

The person walking, however, appears too non-chalant for his surroundings and I think someone displaying a gesture of fighting the wind, bracing themselves or holding on to a hat would be more appropo and create greater impact. Finally, compositionally, I would prefer a less centered composition and think about about 1/2" could have been cropped off the left side.

Was this photographed through car or house window? Even with the faults I've mentioned above, I'm giving this a 10 and adding it to my favorites. Thank you!

Better PP would have helped, removing distracting powerlines....

One wonders if the wind is exceeding the speed limit. Great capture.

Right then, joke's on me as I now have to plough through 564 images and bump them all (yes, all of them) up. There'll be a third run through for fine tuning.

Well captured dynamism.

I have a feeling this may not score terribly well, but I really like this photo. The irony of a relatively low speed limit coupled with a windy gust of snow storm is a nice touch. Good luck
