yeah, i feel the boats are just a bit too much for this nice shot. But, to fix that just bring up the brightness on them a bit so then dont end up as a big, black foreground. Shot looks way better. |

Bud, CONGRATULATIONS on this fantastic image -- and front page finish! I fell in love with it the minute I saw it in the challenge. I'm so glad the voters agreed with me how awesome it is!

Good work Bud. I'd like to see a version where you bring out a smidge more texture and color in the boats. |

Definitely conveys a sense of calm, though a more placid surface would help say "still." I like your composition especially; I wish the boats were lighter to show off their colors (something you could maybe fix with PP outside of the challenge). |

Really like this shot, the warmth of the colors on the boats, the lighting, and nice job technically on capturing the shadow detail in the boats. I also like the repeating shapes of wedges (clouds, land groups, bushes, boats). From a compostion standpoint I feel the boats are a bit overwhelming for the entire picture if you are looking at this as a landscape, if it is really about the boats then a crop on sky and midground bushes may have helped. Overall the composition is just not as balanced as it could be. Also needs a bit of border patrol, :-)
This is a very good shot my thoughts of course are just some suggestions, you've done a very nice job here. 8

Great. Stillness and beauty -- and not over-saturated. |

really nice shot, would be classic if you point the boats toward the setting sun....... |

I like this composition, but the boats seem slightly underexposed. It would be good if the shadows had a bit more detail. I nice, still shot, though. |

I love this photo! I don't know what it is about having a canoe in a water photo that just bumps up the appeal so much, but it really does. Great job. |
