I like the idea ... I think I'd have tried a taller, skinnier arrangement so only one page of the sheet music shows, or else all the way horizontally so you see the top of both pages. On my monitor, the brightest highlights on the sax don't quite fit "the mood." |

good idea, love that tune but looks more like out of focus than soft focus |

I've come to this photograph several times....I like the idea, and the composition...but, for me the musical instrument looks too out of focus....it distracts me from the overall effect of the photo. I know I am not a professional photographer and my ideas are just personal, yet I really like all the other aspects of this photo.... |

The sax (is that what it is?) was a bit too fuzzy to me - took me a while to "get" this one. |

Out of Focus and Soft Focus are not the same thing. |

Great idea for a nostalgic shot. Needed to soften the lights somewhat though. |

Great concept, especially in this contest which is so full of ducks in the park and people's girlfriends. [9] |

An interesting idea. I'm more struck my the shallow depth of focus than the soft focus. The sax is so out of range it is hard to tell what it is. I don;t feel a connection between the music and the sax. Maybe to have the instrument lying on top of the music, the white of the page could give a nice glow using soft focus... |

This seems to me to be more of a shallow depth of field than soft focus. Also the highlights on the sax are blown out. |

i'm not sure i detect the soft focus being used as much as i do the shallow depth of field. perhaps a broader DOF would have made any soft focus that's present a bit more noticeable. |
