Same scene as the shot submitted as the million dollar homesite for the Langdon's birthday challenge. Only a few miles from my house as the redtailed hawk flies, a place I'd only seen from horseback but not with this quality of light. It's an uninteresting view with ordinary light! Grad ND, contrast, toned, USM. Cloned out one small power tower. Darkened edges. Fighting the urge to submit horsey snow shots from New Hampshire instead, hope this does OK.

Still love this view Lynne, would love to see the color version too. Very dramatic.

Lynne, this is SO BEAUTIFUL and dramatic. I can't imagine how awesome it would be to ride a horse and see scenery like this! I bet a picture ON one of those spectacular horses of yours would be out of this world! (maybe for an expert editing challenge ????)

This is beautiful (understatement)!

Right then, joke's on me as I now have to plough through 564 images and bump them all (yes, all of them) up. There'll be a third run through for fine tuning. It's day two three four now and I'm running late, sorry.

I think this is gorgeous, and has an impressive tonal range. I wonder though if b&w was the better choice - if there's a color version of this shot it would be interesting to see it to compare. Maybe the tonal variation in the foreground shows up in better detail in color; then again, this might be one of those images best viewed on a larger scale and not a little 4x6 box on my screen. :) In any case, my wondering doesn't hurt your vote any. Great shot!

The b/w didn't work for me on this shot. Would love to see the color of it to compare. 7

This photo has some real potential. I love the light coming through the clouds and the various shapes created by the light in the mountains.
