 Well I'm not really enthused at the idea of shooting for challenges at the moment. But I would like to submit more often around here - so I've set myself the target of putting something in for every free study from here on in. I've had a little trouble deciding between this shot and some cityscapes I took earlier in the month. Of course, on DPC, a cute kid trumps a collection of buildings every time!

I added the noise not as much to give the shot an old school feel, but rather to cover up the fact that the lighting was limited and this shot was a bit soft out of camera.

I really need to broaden my photographic horizons, I think most of my photos lately have been taken within 20 metres of my house or the house of a family member. This is no exception.

This is a really terrific composition. I like the lighting, the grain, the DOF, and the expression both of the little girl and the rooster.

This /really/ reminds me of a woman named Roxy I know. She's known around town as 'the duck lady' because the ducks at the city pond like.. Trust her. She helps them cross the street to the lake. This little girl almost looks like Roxy only younger and prettier. The chicken only helps.
Great shot though. The noise adds alot to it. Makes it look old fashioned in a good way.

So Darling. What a lovely combination of characters and a beautiful natural capture: the tousled hair and unbuttoned shirt are perfect. Love the sepia and grain too. So much charm.
