Ewww garlic! The dof is good, as is the lighting. Exposure is excellent. Composition is wonderful, and I like the background bulb filling up the space in the background. The texture is good, and the image is nicely sharp where it needs to be. Professional-looking shot, well done. |

I smell the garlic in that shot, incredible macro, good lighting. Maybe a little more depth of field would have helped but it's a beauty anyway |

Mmm. Garlic.
Although I like the shot as is, for the sake of the topic, I might suggest a cut clove would have conveyed a more intense 'scent' feel. Certainly even uncut cloves have a scent, though, and it's a very appetizing layout you have as is. |

IMO, this is the best garlic shot in the challenge. Nice macro, excellent focus on the focal point |

Great light - though something odd is happening on the fringes of the shadws - looks almost like spilt blood, but follows the shadow line so much it almost has to be a processing artefact. I think the background garlic is unnecceary for such a simple image. Great work on the texture of the skins though. One thing you have achieved is the closeness necessary to make me think of aroma: when one tries to smell something, one moves closer to it. |

Excellent photo. Good aperture choice, good lighting, nice backgroundm wonderful color, nice composition. I think that it isn't as sharp as it could be, but still a good photo. |

What happened to your red channel? It's well set up and I like the composition and lighting, but the red, in my opinion, lowers the quailty of the shot. |

I know the main point of interest is the clove but the soft focus on the foreground part is disturbing. Good detail and exposure. |

Nice use of low DOF and good tight crop into the subject. |

Nice macro shot, but garlic doesn't smell much until the clove is crushed. |

Great macro. Soft yet it doesn't lose the texture where it needs to be shown. |
