 The entire outfit is actually just a scarf wrapped around her shoulders and head. Natural lighting from a large window, and a white (carboard)reflector.

Thanks everyone - lots of nice comments and a new PB. To answer a couple of the comments, yes the cooler pallette was deliberate and thanks for everyone that associated it with the title, no her eyes weren't overprocessed, they really are very striking, and no, I don't want to make them purple :- ).
Finally for anyone that thinks 'not another picture of his kids/dog' hey - they're willing, available, and I love them :- )

I love this portrait. The cool tone, blue background and deep blue eyes work perfect and add a nice winter feeling. The lighting is just perfect as well. Nothing bad to say or recommendation to make.

I like the tones in this shot. She looks slightly blue but that is fitting for an "ice princess" after all. Nice colors & great eyes. I'm not sure about the fuzzy texture of the purple and my eyes don't care for the distracting heavy black border on this more subtle feeling shot. All just subjective nits. A very nice portrait and I'm back to bump you up to 8. Well done.

I like the way you captured the texture of the outfit. Are her eyes overprocessed? They are certainly striking. I find the DOF pleasing.

The skin tones are quite cool (at elast on my monitor) but that goes with the title and feel of the image, I guess. Wonderful blue eyes. Nice directional lighting. I think it could use a ltitle bit of contrast, but that is a personal preference. 6 from me.

I really enjoy the colors in this. Her lips almost appear to match her hat and coat, IMO. I really like this.
