you did an amazing editing job here! i enjoy every change you made to this photo: from blurring out the objects behind the window to making the area behind her black, you did astoundingly well! bravo! |

She's the best part of the photo. (expression on her face, body position,
skin tone, outfit design and color) However, the light coming through
the bottom part of the window is a bit too bright, distractingly so.
But she more than compensates for this minor flaw.
Still quite good overall. A Seven. :-) |

What a heartbreaking loss! But this photo will be such a treasure long after this challenge is gone and forgotten. It's priceless. Worth much more than a ribbon -- but I know it's still terribly disappointing.
Your daughter is just breathtaking!

I love love love this shot. You should have this printed and framed! IMO, this is the best shot in the challenge and it should have placed first. It's the most stunning in its simplicity, having not relied on post processing or studio lighting.
I know there's a comment about the pattern in the window being distracting, but I think you really need a little something there to add interest. You've done this perfectly, it's not just negative space, and it's not overpowering either.
I really cant say enough good things about this picture! I love the beams of light coming in the bottom of the window, I love the play of light on her face, I love the soft matching colours in her dress, her expression is priceless..... I could go on. Congrats on the 4th place, you deserve it! |

some spectacularly good technique on lighting the background/foreground, but there's something "stiff" about the child's face, it almost seems a doll's face. the pose is a little stiff as well. A "stiff" "unnatural" model can work with the right technique, but with this technique it seems sentimental. |

This is very good! I like the soft feel and the light rays coming through the window. Your little ballerina appears to be lost in thought, perhaps dreaming of performing in the Nutcracker Ballet. Nice job! 10 |

This is BEAUTIFUL! It reminds me of Sonifo's blue ribbon winner in the last color portrait challenge. But different enough to be different :) So far, from what I've seen, this would be my pick for blue. |
