oh wow, now that i saw this again in the morning, it just hit me why i really liked this. it looks like the shadow of an old fashioned phone watching over him while he's using his cell phone. quite symbolic. i don't know if you intended this or not, but anyway, i do envy your eye lots :)

Far and away the best shot in the challenge.

9+3+1 = unlucky 13. maybe you should have gone with 9:32 as suggested...

Holy cow. Didn't vote in this challenge so missed this. GREAT shot, Nick. And yeah, more like 9:32 but 9:31 looks better as a title. :-)

a shadow with imperfections was my first impression of this pic, i guess my eyes are used to seeing guys in between perfect straight shadows. the more i look atthis, that protrusion turns out to be a giant megaphone or better an old fashioned phone right at his ear, quite cool. and this title is SO damn brilliant. what a capture. great eye, i'd love to see this ribbon.

This is so cool, yet destined to sail over the heads of many speed voters. It is a little difficult to ascertain the use of a cell phone in this image so you're likely to feel some DNMC hits as well. I wish you much needed luck. FWIW, this is one of those images that needs to hang in an art museum to get the long view it deserves.
