This is my little red-headed cutie. She was past due for a nap what I took this shot. I have about 30 shots with her tongue hanging out or her saying "cheese" (or "tseese" as she pronounces it). She took a little break from goofiness and I snapped this one. I think the vignette gives it that "lovely" SEARs portrait studio look : ) Hopefully I can break a 6.0 on this one but it is a kid shot so who knows.
I used our Pedro inspired lights and shot in RAW. RAW conversions. Elements - levels, USM, selective color, neat image, minor cloning, blur, gaussian blur, desat/sat, dodge, burn, crop, border, save for web. |

| Two things, in my eyes, that I felt you nailed: the vignette - it really lifts the shot to another level, and the saturation - the wonderful dirty(?) reds give this a feel of old photographs you might find in your parent's album of when you were a child. Remember those? The one's where colour was added by the photographer manually later? Ahhh yes... I got that melancholy feeling alright... :) |

| Aimee, She is soooo cute! I especially like the thoughtful expression in her eyes. This should have scored much higher, IMO. Nice work. |

Awwwwww. . . .this is so perfect! For challenges like this that aren't "studio portrait" challenges, I always look for pictures more natural and in an appealing environment. This one does that beautifully, and I'm disappointed that the voters didn't score it better! :( She is so PRETTY! Her pretty little lips looks like she has lipstick on, but you can tell that's just her naturl coloring.

| Comment only - this is a wonderful shot of Rowan and very aptly titled. She does indeed look melancholy, though I suspect she was mostly of the "aww, c'mon mom, do we have to do this now?" mindset. |
