Sad but true. The lighting and angle of this are very nice. I'm not quite sure what the bear is holding. Maybe could have had the crutches to the side, like the left one, so we could see more of the bear. This is a great depiction of a childhood aspect. Good luck in the challenge. |

I think the flash puts too harsh a glare on the shiny parts of the photo. 6. |

I can't really speak to the technical issues here, only the emotional ones. My head knows that this IS childhood for a lot of children, but my heart hates that it is so. This photo would convey "childhood" to me with no title at all. lhall |

Another photo were a plush toy was used to replace the child. Hmm... Why did you include it? I mean the photo would have worked without it, too. -stephan |

Depressing? Boring? Lots of wasted space? Don't know exactly why I don't like this one much. |

This would be a stronger picture with a more distinct backround. |

The crutches are just a little overdoing it, I think that the teddybear alone in a childsize wheelchair would have made a stronger statement. Good idea though. |

Unusual environment - and this makes me think about those kids who have to spend more of their childhood in hospital than the majority of us. Kavey |

Very good strong sentiment. However, getting the crutches into the composition seems forced..would be a strong photo without the crutches and some stronger contrast. (7) |

Having had a child who was hospitalized a great deal for a few years during his childhood, I can relate to this photo, even though I find it depressing. Also... don't use the name of the challenge in the title, no way, no part, no how! |
