Hi from the Critique Club.
Composition: I love the composition in this.The teddy at the left with the baby forming a nice diagonal in the frame. Great.
Technical: The DOF seems to be nicely on the eyes but given you editing steps that may be an illusion. In any case, the eyes are nicely done and the background is very nicely OOF. There is a slight grain to the image which I'm unsure if I like or not. The border is a bit think for my liking but thats just personal preference.
Feel: I really like this shot, other than the border. I can see why it scored as it did as DPC is not very baby photo friendly. This is one that would look nice hanging on a wall. Great work, like the rest of the portraits in your profile.

| Kashi, I was one of your 7's - I think this was underrated. I quite like the focus on the one eye, and the lighting is gorgeous. Well done! |

It's amazing to me that a couple of people seemed to focus on the fact that only one eye was completely in focus.. which is the whole *POINT* of the photo, if one would take more than the requisite 3.5 seconds to skim the image and hit a number.
Ok.. ok.. if you're commenting, you're taking more time. Still, I stand behind what I say :) I'm honored to share a close finish (I finished two higher with my own baby portrait.. not that it's *my* baby..)with you.
Completely underrated photo.
Also.. wanted to add.. you finished with the same number of comments as I did as well.. and the same number of favorites! lol. Cool.

| I like the subtle and subdued lighting. The teddy bear is a great prop and your baby is beautiful. Picture is a bit on the soft side, but that's ok given the subject matter. Btw, I'm not crazy about baby pictures, but this one is especially compelling. Good job. |

Right then, joke's on me as I now have to plough through 564 images and bump them all (yes, all of them) up. There'll be a third run through for fine tuning. It's day two now and I'm running late, sorry.
Would that be Bear with bear?
