Ok so what is the story behind this? lol Is that a telescope? Is that really the sun or a background light? I would like to have seen some light on the rest of the object (for depth) and less reflective light on the lens. I think this is a good idea and I wonder if a filter of some kind would have done something here.

I am no photo expert so my comments are based on how I feel about you picture, I hope they are usefull.

This image may have been helped by with some detail in the rest of the picture, so overall it feels a little underexposed. At the same time the burnt out highlights do attract my attention to the glass at the front of the telescope(?), but just detracts from the image instead of adding to it.
