 My steps:

Crop
Levels layer
Hue/Sat layer to remove all blues
smudge tool to blend colours a bit and make smooth
Curves layer
Resize to 1024px
Neat Image
Resize to 900px
Sharpen
Resize to 640
Sharpen x3
Save for web

These are circles of jello on a glass tabletop sitting on a white matboard. Lit from 2 sides with 300w bulbs and a bounce off ceiling at 200w.

This is kind of neat, the overall lighting is a bit pink though and I would have liked to see a brighter white to contrast the red and green
