Cheers for all the votes and comments. I'd like to thank OrdinaryAngel for making me submit this. I wasn't going to because I didn't like it, however, I'm glad I did.

Just gonna go have a celebratory beer.

*edit*
I would have loved to have removed the tables from the shot, but alas they were chained down :(.

I think the tables should stay - they are mostly circular, after all. This is currently my favourite shot on the site.

I agree that removing the tables most likely would make this photo better but it's still very good. "I like it a lot..."

What are all the tables leading up to the person? I think it would be kind of cool to see it plain without all of them but I love this picture, what a great location

This is really beautiful. One of the few ribbon winners that would have gotten a high vote from me (I didn't vote this challenge).

Normally I'm not a fan of shots where the photographer has applied a duotone/grayscale etc. to all of a photo except one area (they remind me of those cheesy black and white posters of the little kids holding hands with just a rose coloured), but the subtlety of this is really working for you - it's a great shot, and your post-processing has really added to it. The one drawback of this photo is that it's tilted counter-clockwise slightly. Picky, I know, but as a graphic designer it bothers me. It's the difference between a great phot and a really great photo.

Wow! So easy on the eye! Nice one.
I've been watching your progress for some time now and your skills, imagery, use of shadows light and colour are well-deserving of this ribbon. Congratulations Shalrath! PS the figure placed between the two trees and the green finish in this works brilliantly (I think!)

strong central composition - great use of a few tones to set the rainy-day feel - one of my ribbon picks

Excellent photo. I like the color tone. I also like the square crop. Hmmm... interesting subject placement, SLIGHTLY off-centered... Yep, very good. Very curious as to what the location is.

Nice job keeping the umbrella silver while everything else is tinted green.

03/15/2007 05:41:52 PM
Very nice. Love the umbrella. I like that it's not in the duotone like the rest of the shot. Well done. The symmetry works well.

although the whole thing seems to be tilted to the left a bit, i think this is a winner with its tones and moodiness... 7

I'm trying to figure out what this person is standing in and I don't know. it's a cool photo, somewhat surreal, and I like the green tones.

I prefer this without the person.....
