I wish it was a little lighter in the room. 6.

Definately depicts childhood. I like the concept behind this, however the angle is a little odd. I think I would like to have seen more of the cake and on top of the table. You captured the candles very nicely, and the whole "birthday" theme is very clear. I wish the lighting were constant throughout the photo. It seems darker on the right than it is on the left. Overall great idea. Good luck in the challenge.

Good perspective - a child's eye view. A little too dark on one side, and too light on the other. Good focus for the lighting conditions though.

The photographer's son must be very smart and attractive.

This reminds me of an empty set on a children's TV show – that isn't a criticism by the way. I like the atmosphere created by the candles and the lighting and the feeling that there's nobody around to witness the scene. It has a lonely feel - almost like it's pretending to be happy. The angle is very clever – it creates the illusion of a stage curtain rather than household curtains and this adds to the surreal effect. I have to say, this is a great shot. I may not have interpreted this shot as you intended, but then I might :o) Sometimes the guessing is as much fun as the challenge itselfâ€Â¦ This picture has had me looking at it for ages, so, it has made me thinkâ€Â¦ (10)

Looks a bit gloomy.

I think this could have been cropped tighter without losing the perspective that was so well captured here (from the child's point of view). Good idea.

Consider your title a little more. I think "Special Day" would work better than Zack's special day.

Birthday parties are a great memory of childhood for me :) I also like the angle you have presented here that looks like a small child's view :) Good work... - jmsetzler

Like the idea and low viewpoint and the candles have come out well. The background and right hand side are too dark and the tablecloth in the foreground.

I like the way you shot this from the perspective of a small child.
