i really like this idea, but somehow the composition seems cluttered to me. There is too much in the frame..I would have cleared up the cones in the bg or made them part of what is in focus and tried to keep the bg as clean as possible. I don't know if that would actually improve the shot, but it was what first struck me. |

The shallow depth of field carries and makes this shot. The single protuding needle at the left of the image is an unfortunate distraction. The colour and hues are rendered extremely natural in an apt composition. Not a spectacular capture, but a satisfying one. |

This definitely conveys that slightly musty pine smell that is so evocative of the season. I like the use of shallow DOF to throw out foreground and background, and like choice of getting in close to subjects. |
