Wow, I didn't know that Jesus smoked a pipe! :-) |

I don't see any smoke- for me, the smoke is what visually represents scent. |

If the smoke was a little more prominent this would be a GREAT shot! Love the character of the character!

This is a beautiful portrait in it's own right that also meets the challenge... wonderful lighting and tones. |

This is different from the other shots in this contest. I really like it. Nice background and lighting. I like the way he's holding the pipe and the look on his face. Definitely a plus (for me) that he's looking away from the camera. The semi-side shot is really nice. Good work. I gave this an 8. |

Great picture. I like the warm feeling of it and the expression of the man. |

Nice lighting with just a hint of the smoke rising fron the pipe. Rethink this one with a verticle compostion and a slight tilt to the camera. It seems a little static. |

Why isn't the pipe smoking? Lighting could be better, but I still like it. |

I can see the smoke, just about, but would like to be able to see it more clearly. |

The focus is about the smoker not the pipe. Too dark |

I like this, dark though, nice :) |

Good portrait, nice lighting, like the angle at which you shot this person.
I was thinking about the pose, there is some empty space to the left. On one hand that works good with the direction in which he looks. On the other hand I would like to see that bottom left filled up a bit more. I don't know how one smokes a pipe, but perhaps a higher position of the end of the pipe and the hand supporting it from below (with the inside of the hand / fingers under the pipe) could help.
Anyway, good job. |

Wish there was just a little bit more smoke, otherwise, good job. |

Good image, but could have been stronger in my opinion. Getting closer with the camera to the pipe, capturing the smoke, possibly only including the hand, the mouth and beard would have emphasised the smell aspect more. |

Nice lighting, but would have liked to have seen more smoke. |

This is an interesting image and stands alone as well as meeting the challenge. My Dad was a pipe smoker so it\'s a reaslly positive and nostalgic smell for me. The softness underscores the introspective feel of the image and the lighting supports it as well. |

Nice atmospheric shot, I like it. The smoke could be a little more obvious maybe. |
