Man, you could have thrown in a bit of noise and a white edge... too. |

I like this, can't figure out how you kept the chess pieces from sliding off the table though! ;) |

"Chess Table, White to Move" is a very cool entry into the Furniture challenge. I have no idea how to play chess so I am not sure where white would be headed. I think you have an awesome concept here. I think it was probably more out of the box then most voters like, which probably results in the not so hot score. But I say make the photo that makes you happy, and I would be proud of this one.
Technically the shot looks good, our lighting is well balanced and our focus is nice and crisp. I think the angle has to grab the viewers eye because it is just not normal. I think it was cool that our perspective is altered since the subject is kind of off the wall to start with. The composition looks good, I would be curious to see the shot with the sky cropped out in comparison to left in. The image might look to confusing if you cropped out the sky.
Overall great job thinking outside the box and defiantly keep it up, this is one of the more creative ones in the challenge. |

Don, I'm shocked. I thought this was a very nice shot. I know what your problem was. You committed a mortal sin and tried to make people think without giving them their instant gratification. The idea is great and the tilt really adds to it. This should have scored far higher than it did. |

Not a bad idea but kind of a hard perspective to view. Definitely different. Good luck. |

Well, there was too much thought put into the composition here (aligning the chess board with the frame of the shot) for it to be Whiterook... :) |
