 You know, people are always showing eagles in this pose. Its even on our money. But I think the common sparrow (or wren, whichever this may be) is a much better national bird. You know why? They're everywhere. They're industrious. They're smart. They hang out at MacDonald's.

A small bird I snapped. He was really close and not afraid of me. I cropped it the way I wanted to. I edited it the way I wanted to. I love birds - they are so cool. They can fly. I can't. That is so cool.

Looks very regal despite his small size! I like how you can see the detail in the individual feathers on his chest, too.

Nice close-up but the darker edges of the bird look distorted by either sharpening or contrast adjustments, and it draws my eye from the nicer parts.

Right then, joke's on me as I now have to plough through 564 images and bump them all (yes, all of them) up. There'll be a third run through for fine tuning.
