An apartment fire in my complex over the weekend called out over 30 firemen. They did an outstanding job and got the fire under control in about an hour. They brought out the ladder to tackle the fire from above.

My first challenge submission!

Ooooh. . .what a great perspective photo! I love the drama of this. I am for some reason very drawn to "workmen" photos. This is awesome.

Good technical quality. I'm not sure I like the angle you took with this capture though. I don't get a sense of scale that your title is hinting at. Maybe a lower angle or wider one would have worked better.

Strong detail and tones, eye-catching composition - although if i were getting arty I'd moan about the tree-tops. Would a higher contrast processing not have worked better? made more of the organic nature of the smoke versus the clean technical lines of the ladder?
