Taken in Mesquite, Nevada at a big hill climb event. This picture was taken in the late afternoon.
Shot taken in JPEG.
Took the slider all the way down and right in curves with Digital Photo Professional. Auto save in TIFF.
In Elements 4, minor color shift. Heavy handed in Shadows/Highlights, and Brightness/contrast. I also cropped, cropped, then did it again, resize, sharpen, save for the web.
I think this is a good 6 in scoring, but that little spot of light will cost me a half point or more, could not crop it would remove too much of the photo, and under basic rules, well you know..

| Visually a very striking image with a ton of mood. I generally hate "negative space" images, but this one doesn't qualify in my opinion, the whole left side looks like it is one fire. I makes the whole frame come alive, even though it is subtle. I guessing the lower score had to do with voters idea of LowKey... Still congrats, an image that will keep it's worth over time! |

| Very interesting visually. Leaves me wondering about the story behind it (well, it did until I read your comments). Still wondering what I'm seeing - where's the light source and what's the shadow projecting onto? |

| Really nice interesting image. As a Free Study, I think it definitely is worthy of a much higher score, but perhaps not for a Low Key challenge. |
