I can't help but feel that you just missed a ribbon-winning shot. Please note, your shot is still great, but I feel the composition could be a lot better.
The ice textures in the left are simply stunning, and a closer, macro-type shot of this alone would probably get a 10 from me. The stick with the bit of ice is distracting, as are the differences in the ice textures left/right. I also would have cropped out the top, or perhaps try a b/w conversion.
I don't know the constraints you had to take this, and probably there was nothing you could do to better it. But I can't help the "could have been a ribbon but..." feel. |
