 This is Jazz artist James Morrison. At my school, the university of Idaho, every year we have a jazz festival. It's the Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival. I work for the student paper, so I got a press pass and got to shoot right in front of the stage.

This was my favorite from the two nights I shot.

I knew it...Jim Morrison didn't die! He's tubby, balding and middle-aged and playing jazz trumpet.

Great shot. One of my favourites from this challenge. Nice candid expression and intimate crop.

Classic. Congrats on the PB!!! Looks like something we'd see spreading across 2 pages in a magazine. I think if it wasn't for the foreground mic you'd easily have a ribbon (at least if it were up to me ;P)

that's great. nice trumpet too (played for years). only thing, would have cloned out the "thing" on the right side of the screen, but this is a well captured image and will not count off for that. love the framing, great job! 7

Nice B&W. The microphone seems distracting...but after further consideration, why wouldn't it be there - I guess. Its a fine photo and the expression is indeed LOL.

James Morrison is a living legend! This is a great image he would like to have I am sure. I met him last year and have an image of him in my portfolio. Love the capture and the expression. Great Composition.
