 The redback spider is a dangerous spider native to Australia. The redback spider has a neurotoxic venom which is toxic to humans with bites causing severe pain.

Yikes!! Great detail. Looks like an exquisitely done science book illustration. Both my husband and two sons have been bitten by the dreaded brown recluse, which is the American equivalent. The repercussions can be VERY serious.
