 Purpose...okay, to catch the effect that the almost constant wind has on things in this area (western Ok.) even things like trees and this house. Shot in the late afternoon just before sunset, it was a bit overcast so shot at 3200 ASA, 1/2000 sec, F 5.6, *ist DL with a 300mm zoom lens, going for a grainy vintage feel (which ended up being more fuzzy than grainy, oh well) sepia tone setting in camera for the aforementioned vintage feel.

Update, the owners decided it was time to go...they did a controlled burn last week...there is nothing left but a burnt spot in the earth where this cool old house stood....too bad really...

Very cool picture! I love the tones and feel of this image, it has a very depression era "dust bowl" feel to it!

Another wonderful take! The tones here are more serious and speak of a past not unlike some of our faded memories and ideas that have been foresaken.

I've gotta say, you were robbed on this image. It's amazing. It reminds me of the videos of the early abomb tests, where the houses were blown up. Wild.

Interesting capture. The tree seems OOF here, but I do like the overall content. BW may look a bit better for this type of shot.

that is one crazy thing going on - it makes me think the lens is distorted - that might have been a good idea ... but back to this photo. I like the sorta early photo Charlin Chaplin feeling to this.

While I like the vintage look and sepia treatment, I don't think you nailed the focus. Great subject, weak composition.

Not sure I like the colour tone here but you certainly have a great subject to work with here especially for future shots (if possible) and in post processing on your own (since this is minimal)
