Ok, I'm probably the only nut that really loves photos of construction workers hard at work in their grungy environment. I don't know why, but I really do.

This is "Cleaning Jack", and he is the contractor we are using to remove every inch of about 14 layers of ugly paint off of our beautiful historic buildings at our Pearl project. The Pearl Stable, which I showed you earlier, is an example of his gorgeous finished work. Here, it doesn't look too pretty, but I promise. . .when he is done, the transformation will boggle your mind. He is an interesting (VERY chatty) character, who over the course of his work with us has completely educated me on the processes he uses to accomplish his mission (whether I wanna know or not :).

Here, we are on about the 6th or 7th floor. I was standing on a terrace taking overhead shots of something else when I spooted him. I just thought this made for a cool photo of our work in progress at Pearl. I laughed so hard because even with all that noise and I was on another building's roof, when he saw me taking his picture, he started yelling over the noise his chit-chat about what he was doing and what the issues were :) I really like ol' Cleaning Jack :)

A daunting task and you captured the essence of the laborious task well. Great shot, nicely composed whilst not appearing so.

Aha, construction workers. Every womans fantasy. I like steel workers myself. Don't have much of that work happening right now, but in the spring we have a few new buildings going in. Anyway, I really like the fog created by his "hose." Sexy.

Very cool shot, Sandy. I really like it alot. And I'll bet they'll like this at Pearl, too. Hope you print this out and give it to Jack - he'll love it!

Love this! I passed many workers today and wanted to get my camera out but was unfortunately in too much of a hurry. I love the white smoke/dust/water all around him and he just stands right out in it all with his bright colors and look of concentration.

Wonderful capture! I like to photograph construction workers, too. In fact, my shot for today was inspired by the workers in the foreground. Something elemental about this shot of yours. Awesome.

I like this shot, especially the slight blur on Ol' Jack, showing him so hard at work even the camera couldn't stop him. The mist really adds to the whole feel of the photo. I'm not overly fond of the thick border, but it doesn't really detract from the shot.

I agree with all those others but I also like the frame. I do think the ones with text are better. (I like the font)

Sandy, you actually took a shot of a real worker. I figured you have a body builing, six pact model posing for you. LOL!! Just joking!!! You always do a great job and I love the history and facts you put with your postings. Keep up your great work.

we must get online at the same time every morning.
every time i post my photo, you are usually no more than one person below.
And your desrciptions are always so detailed.
you must be an interesting (very chatty) person :-)
and you even manage to make a photo of someone peeling paint look interesting.

Cool shot! Just tell ol' Jack that he needs to wear a mask so he doesn't inhale all that stuff. Aren't serendipity shots fun? :)

Great environmental portrait! I really like the capture of the steam on this, and the PP is great - you really made the colors pop. Great photo!
