 i'm not entirely sure of the history of this. i can only assume it was built for the family of a rich fisherman (there once were such things) to watch the harbour for his safe return. i'll try to find out more this week.

the sign is on the far side of the tower - yup, i trespassed to get a shot of it. i put it on the top of the image, and it just looked stupid at 100% opacity. so i changed the blend mode to overlya, then did a whole lot of layers of that, with some masking, as it tended to fade away completey as the sky darkened.

I definately like this in black and white, makes it feel old and mysterious, especially with the cemetary in front.

I like the image, but am unsure of the sign in the sky. I like the history of the old watchtower and the graves.

This is a great image, wonderfully done, from composition and shooting to processing. I have no idea what you did (I just haven't done those things, so don't know how), but it looks like I need to learn if I can accomplish anything even close to this!

excellent photograph .. i love the sombre moody feel to this image .. the sign behind the tower is unreal ... like a suggestion, hardly there at all .. gives this photo a very eerie quality as well ...
was the sign there or did you edit it in? ... either way works for me!! :)

What a cool photo! I love the gravestones in front. It makes this so dramatic -- especially with that faint sign in the background.

I really like this in black and white, the contrast is great. I like the info that is at the top of the photo, but I don't know if it is just my monitor but I can only just read it, I didn't notice it to begin with.
