Challenge: Trees (Minimal Editing I)
Camera: Nikon D200
Lens: Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED
Location: South of Port Orford, Oregon near Rocky Point.
Date: Feb 18, 2007
Aperture: f/6.3
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/400th
Galleries: Nature, Seascapes
Date Uploaded: Feb 20, 2007

Trees, stumps, branches and remnants thereof wash downriver and are pounded and rolled by the powerful Pacific currents and surf, eventually washing up on shore during heavy seas and high tides as a mere shadow of their former selves; to ultimately dry and weather into the massive pieces of driftwood that scatter the Southern Oregon Coast beaches. These pieces appeared on the morning of Feb 18th as the sun rose over the coastal mountains and had just started illuminating the beach.

So they are trees. They just looked more like rocks to me. Slight horizon tilt didn't help you. The lighting and the scene is very pretty overall though.

I cant make the connection to challenge... There are some trees on the hill in the BG i'm sure but they don't seem to add much to the composition. Is the object in the foreground a tree or a rock?? or something else. Skipping for now.

I think I'm missing something here.

It is a fairly pretty photo. It could use a little more contrast, a slight horizon adjustment, and maybe some deeper colours.

I can't see anything to do with trees, though.

Horizon not level. Trees are distant. Hard to tell what you are trying to present.
