I practically took this shot by accident. I was doing a test shot to see how loud my shutter was and just pointed my camera in any random direction without even focusing.
But I like the mood. I really love available light photography.
I also love blurry pictures. Blur de-emphasizes details and, in doing so, emphasizes light and form. Blurry pictures are kind of like memories and dreams, hazy and indistinct. Perhaps they are interpreted directly by the subconcious, bypassing the conscious mind's filter. Just a thought.
I also love pictures captured without thinking (or at least without over-thinking). Pictures that are too consciously composed can only be as good as the photographer that composes them, and I'm just as guilty as anyone else of over-thinking things. Pictures captured without thought, on the other hand, have limitless potential. Sure, most of them suck, but every once in a while you get a really interesting one.
Hope this doesn't all sound like pretentious mumbo jumbo, 'cuz I really do believe it.
