Nice idea. Choosing to shoot on a day with less haze could've proved better.

Clever.

Robin Island. Yes, I know exactly where you were and I envy you. Alas, I have to wait until January before I get home.

Great idea, well executed. I can't help but feel that the position of the pencil is almost too good, such that you can't really see the part of the mountain top it is blocking to say, yes the whole mountain top is flat, but your shot is excellent, so I will just let that go. 9 Swash

This reminds me of those photos all the tourists take of themselves "holding up" the Eiffel Tower or Leaning Tower of Pisa! I like it! It's silly and yet includes a stunning landscape. I like how low it sits in the frame, with all that expanse of sky above it.

NIce very creative, regarding the framing, I am not a 'third' guy but that might be a little too much in the middle.
Question/guess : would you be european ? French ?

Interesting use of pencil - I also like the perspective trick involved with said use.

Nice try, but I'm not buying it! :) [said in good spirit]. Nice clear shot, and relatively interesting.

Where is Table mountain???

Looks pretty flat to me, but I would have prefered to see it at the top third of the picture. In my opinion this is one of those pictures that would benifit from the thirds rule.

Very nice, good choice of red pencil and good focus. An excellent shot.

very nice.
where is this?

I really like this picture. You did an excellent job wit the DOF. Focus is great, exposure is good. 9

Pretty darn flat. Looks like that sucker got shaved off by an ice burg millions of years ago. You had to have measured to get the far water line so perfectly aligned with the bottom of the photo. Cause I know I did, and it's like 1/16 of an inch off. (going by the large photo on the comment screen). Can't complain about that!! It was a great day for this shot. A little overcast in the background, but that takes nothing away from this photo. Great shot and good luck with the challenge.

Well, it is not really a useful comment for that I appologise.... but that seems a great deal of DOF. If it isn't and there is a trick to this I don't understand PM me.

good use of depth of field here... everything is in focus :) the 'creative' use of the pencil in this photo seems a little bit weak to me though... - jmsetzler

Nice idea and view. The hand bothers me, but I don't know how you could have done it better really.
