 Photo of a less fortunate soul doing what ever it takes to get by. To often I just pass these folks by but today I took time to pay attention and see the person behind the sign. I am pretty sure this is not what he wanted to be when he grew up, I just wonder what his dream was!

great catch...did you give him a buck or two for the shot? :) makes you wonder about his story. wonder what the shot would look like with the truck faintly colorized.

your techique to blur the bg is interesting...it looks like gas fumes. that mirror is very interesting to me. i think it would have been cool to take his portrait in it. yes, that would have required actually interacting with him and possibly the trucker ;)

Hope you don't think I'm heartless, but I don't believe a word of it! In fact I'm curious about the sign that is behind the first one... it seems to say something about "creative... aid"! Now that I believe!

As for the photo itself, it is really nicely executed. The subject is nicely separated from the background, and the b/w converstion looks great. A few blown highlights noted along the wheel and mudflap, but just nit-picking. Nice work.

Very candid. My only problem, and I mean only, is that the text on the board is a bit blown and difficult to read. otherwise excellent job!
