An English/Australian term.

Unfortunately it may not make sense to Americans who tend to "hit the brake" and where "jam" = "jelly" I think.

I am quite happy with this shot, other than:

1) The jam is a little over sharpened, but I needed to sharpen the rest to this degree (and can't spot sharpen for a challenge). However, it does give the jam a good transparent feel to it as well.

2) I cleaned this area of the bike (rest is still filthy *laugh*) and only later noticed some water marks on the gold, top left area of gold, which annoy me. Too late to reshoot though and it is not annoying enough to make me want to.

The couple of patches of glare I don't mind at all.

Didn't need to do much to this at all, it is pretty much right out of the camera.

Greetings from the Critique Club

Well,,, I do believe you've pretty well summed up your image in your comments.

Improvements? I'm assuming the red in the upper left corner is part of the Bike? The fender or some such? For that colour and extra diagonal to not be there is the only thing I can see to change.

As an American, I did know what the phrase was. We do say that here.

Great shot.

Simon, Comgratulations! Your highest score yet! Looks like the amount of jam wasn't a problem after all! Hope it wasn't too hard to clean up.

This shot is great. Bravo on the creativness.. and the willingness to either put jelly on your bike, or the ability to convince someone else to allow you to do it to theirs.
I do wish the focus as a bit more on the jam but over all, excellent shot.

Nice detail, nice light. I like the quarter circle composition. The jam just seems to randomly placed - maybe more - all around the curve?
