Great idea, seemingly casual, she is really herself, even not hiding that she bites her nails (next stage of the make up process?). |

I think that if you wanted the mirror in the photo that you might have wanted to back it up just a bit. It's a bit distracting from the rest of the photo. That is just my opinion though. I like the mirror in there, but it's a bit too close for my taste. I wonder why you went with black and white here. A lot of time people go with black and white when dealing with people and skin tones, but I like faces in color. You might have tried it and it didn't look good to you. I would like to see them both to compare b/w to color. I love the eye pencil idea. Other than the closeness of the mirror, the angle is great and lighting appears to be good as well. I like the angle so you can tell you are trying to look into the mirror. You have nice eyes and pretty lashes. They would make for great macros. Good job with the photo and good luck in the challenge. |

very nice shot :) I love the way the mirror plays into this image. I'm trying to decide if the black and white works well for me here or not... Black and white with grain is something that I generally associate with 'old'. I'm not sure how those two aspects are improving this photo overall. The soft focus works nicely here... I would love to see the color version of this :) Good shot... - jmsetzler |

Nice. The soft focus/graininess makes it a warmer, more personal photo. Very strong composition. In fact, it's so beautiful that I'm giving it 10 - lisae |

The blown out, glowing mirror kind of messes up this image, in my honest opinion. |

Like it but the mirror reminds me of when I've got my thumb or something else in the frame by accident - it's too starkly white compared with her skin, for my taste. I like the close crop on her face and the slight reflection in the eye. 5, Kavey |

Great twist on the challenge. I do wish the compact/mirror in the bottom left was nto so distracting though. Love the graininess and the intimate feel. 8 shedonist |

very 'reportage' feel to this with the slightly blurred/ noisy feel. Good entry. |

I am sure someone will comment on the blob in the bottom left corner, however, I can see that it is a mirror. Maybe move it out of the picture, or move it more in so it is more clear as to what it is, since it does kind of distract, but the picture is still beautiful! 8!!! |

I think the greenish night-cam type effect makes her look scared instead of innocent. I'm not sure this is the right place for this image effect. |

Original. I like the idea. I find myself wanting to push the mirror away so I can see the rest of her face. Also, there's a tad bit too much grain for me. Still I like it. |
