This image actually has a real cool retro feel to it. Reminds me of b/w photography my father use to do. My biggest suggestion would be to lessen the negative space at the top and do this image in portrait orientation. 7 -danny

Reminds me of an old foreign film Star. I like this very much. Great work.

Yes a powerful, beautiful individual. The cigarette however draws all the attention in the composition. Is that what you're trying to say all that a woman is or could be lost to a nasty habit?

Excellent light in her face

hmmm... I better not comment or else I might get in trouble.

A beautiful image but what is propagandist about the idea of power and beauty in women?
11/20/2003 03:51:30 AM
are you sure, is it woman? bit out of focus..., message is good...

This one really works for me - nicely composed, lit, (lovely strong face)

Love it. The lighting and dead black space make this quite stunning.

Being ruined by a nasty cigarette? I'm not sure what your propaganda is going for... I like the photo, but am completely turned off by the cigarette.

The camera angle and lighting combined with the expression and cigarette emphasize power over beauty. Very dramatic image.

Where's the power? Where's the beauty? Where's the rest of the face?

I don't see the propaganda element in it? except if it's pro-smoking propaganda?

I couldn't have said it any better myself. 10.

Well, I am not sure if your title was to evoke a response. While this woman has a great powerful look, the cigarette to me is a weakness. And a cigarette makes one anything but beautiful. So I am not sure what to make of this topically, though it is very well taken. The bit of smoke to the right center is a distraction (as is the whole cigarette).
