 I already have a feeling this one won't score really high, but I decided to enter anyway because I love music and also wanted to end my break from challenges. The blown-out highlights are really distracting to me, but the singer was partially in shadow and had really dark skin. Hence, blown-out sky and background. C'est la vie... :) That aside, I am totally in love with my new 85mm f/1.8!!! What a sweet lens! :D I have a feeling I'll be using it as my primary lens now.

This shot was taken at Venice Beach. I found a large group of musicians as soon as I arrived, threw some money in the tip jar, and started shooting like a madman. I liked this shot the best due to the way the light hit the singer's face and the fact that he almost seemed to be having a religious experience. Besides, I also think the guy in the background has a bit of a "man upstairs" look to him. :) Who knew the big guy's musical instrument of choice was a maraca and not a harp?! ;)

Nice to have you back in the challenges, your work is missed. I really like this shot, I don't think that its that blown out that you think. IMO the main subject is in focus and has good lighting on his face. I think you captured a great expression also. Nice work bro.
