For the fish lovers out there - no fish were harmed in the creation of this photo! :D Actually, I think they enjoyed the live food (minus the hook of course).
Started off thinking I'd do this with a mini-marshmallow. Ummm...they don't sink. :P Didn't want to clutter the shot with a lead weight. Tried hiding a weight under the marshmallow but it didn't look right. Almost gave up, or used an empty hook - then I remembered I still had a container of worms in the fridge (upstairs in my office - NOT the house fridge). They were nearly frozen (have to keep the beer cold you know), but amazingly still alive. I've had them in there for months! :D
BTW, the "string" is intentional. I have plenty of fishing line in various colors and weights, but thought this would add a touch of a childish theme to the shot. You know, something a kid might use.
After I finished getting some shots I realized that I could have gotten a little faster shutter speed moving the ISO up from ISO 100. Hmmm...oh well, too lazy to set it all up again, besides my wife was due back any minute and I still had the package of fish hooks and worm container on the kitchen counter. Didn't think that would go over too well. He-he.
Hope this shot goes over "OK". Probably going to get some comments saying "it's blurry". :) |

| I like the idea, the lighting, and the composition, but not the out of focus worm, nor the blurry fish. |
