This was a REALLY hard choice because my model was so good and the lighting set up I had was wonderful. I had a choice between three that when put together told a story. The first was a smiling one that was hopeful for a good day of selling. The second had a pleading look that spoke of "Please good mistress, buy an apple". The last was this one, the girl saddened that no one bought her apples.

Lately I have had a thing with the old painters. For the Personification challenge I thought of maybe doing something like Giuseppe Arcimboldo Summer painting. But who had time to arrange & gather that many fruits & vegetables? I thought of doing it for this challenge but I did not have the drive to do it. I wanted instead to create something akin to Johannes Vermeer's work.

I think I might just have accomplished that. And while the voters may score this entry a 5.3 when the final votes are in I am very proud and happy with this work.

Ahh - that is lovely

My first thought was that it resembled a Vermeer painting even before I read your description.
The light is exquisit and your model really talented.

Just a GORGEOUSLY lit and PP'ed image. Congratulations. You and Svetlana make me drool to have your eyes. I am sure you know she is a Vermeer fanatic too.

Lighting details PLEASE if you dare to give away the process of such magical techniques.

I gave it a 10 btw.

All three of your shots are lovely - any one of them would have been fine for the challenge. I think you're right, though, that the emotion in this one may have been a bit better for the "2 second" DPC voter. Nice work all around!
