 Sunset. SHQ. I tried for a tighter crop on the top to take out some of the background, but the eye started to pixelate. I did crop out the guard rail on the bottom that is attached to the post the dove is sitting on. We have a bunch of doves here in southeast Michigan right now. I think they are massing on the border while waiting for the Ohio Dove Hunting season to end before making their run south.

The bird seems a little dark to me, maybe it would help to adjust the curves some.

Nice shot. I do believer that the Dove does indeed seem "lonesome"! Well-executed photo and nice use of negative space.
On a side note, I originally wondered if the immediate background grass could have been lost for better effect, or likewise contrast enhanced for same. After playing with the image in my mind (be afraid) I don't thinks so. Great work!

Beautiful dove. I love the warm light you have captured. Is it a sunset? Good DOF. I wish you cropped it a bit from the left as for a better use of rule of thirds but is still a very nice picture. 9

I like the colourisation and contrast. Not sure if composition has the dove a little low in the frame? It's not too noticable, but the image looks a little oversharpened? (Very sharp edge on the dove's breast, and speckles in the background.)

This is good, I like the different textures going on here, the color of the bird and the background are very similar, however what makes this work to me is the texture differences, the softness of the bird againt the rough texture if the wood and dried brush makes the bird stand out in this picture, I like it.

I like the photo and how it ties in with your book title, but since the color tones are all the same the bird does not really stand out. Everything sort of blends in together which is good sometimes but not necessarily when you have a real point of focus like the bird. All in all it is a good shot though and I gave you an above average mark.

I like the dove. To my eye, the blurred, bright background detracts from the main subject. I think it would be more effective if you cropped it out.

One of my top three favorite books, movie. I thought of this for a shot but of course didn't know if I could find a dove. You did and did it well. I like the tones and the composition.

nice shot - although in my mind the subject is a bit small.
it also kind of blends in with the BG a bit too much, although i imagine you didnt have too much control over the composition

I would have centered a bit more on the dove, but see your point on the isolation of putting him off center
