I thought this was a perfect interpretation of the book. brilliantly done, and completely spot with its desolate feel. |

Marvellous. Has the desolation, the relentlessness, and even the period feel of the book. Sepia is excellently done, and I like the almost graphic composition too - verges on the edge of being just shapes. |

Beautiful, glowing sky! Good entry. I'm wondering what the picture would look like if the road didn't go straight into the middle, but a bit more from one side - I don't know - something to try. ~8 |

I saw several grapes painted to look like they were angry posted here with this title, but this is the only picture that actually captures the story. Very well done. Sepia is a nice touch. |

This is a perfect shot depicting the book title. Though this photo might be boring without the challenge, it works so well here. Lots of dry earth, unyielding and flat that goes on forever. 9 |

Nice Sepia. Steinbeck, I think, would certainly approve. You have captured well the sad journey of the Joad family forced from their land to seek imagined California riches. Now if you just had a determined turtle crossing the road it would be perfection. :) |

ok I've scolded other photos for not fitting with thier title if you don't know the book, BUT this picture captures the image in my mind when I read that book PERFECTLY. Very bleak and powerful. Nice sepia - looks like a period photo. very nice 10 |

I read the book so I get what the picture is, but everyone who hasn't had the pleasure might get confused about the picture. I think I would have liked the horizon to be higher in the frame. That would have made a stronger statement about the unending road. The sky is not an important part of the image and yet you've given it almost 2/3 of the space. |

Nice photo, but I guess one has to know the book to really understand how it fits the title. |

While this fits the content of the book I don't think it really fits the title of the book. I see no wrath element. I see no grapes element. I love the photo and think it is great. I think the centered road works well for this shot. The color tones are nice and the photo has an endless feel to it. Great photo. |

i never read the book so I'm not sure how this picture can be titled as such. But challenge aside, it's a nice sepia shot, the horizon is nice & straight. |

good composition... the toning feels a little too 'pinkish' for my personal taste. |

Lose the border. It detracts from the starkness. Otherwise well done, but the sepia tone rings false in a sense. How is it in straight B/W? |
