 A friend has a house on this lake. we stood on the ice and listened to it speaking to us - moaning and popping. fascinating, and slightly scary as well.

Another amazingly finished image.I like the colors and the tones of the shadow in the light. Although it seems stark, it has a really good story to tell.

Like the crack in the surface. Gives the image some interest and serves as a nice guiding line for the eyes.

stunning shot and love the composition .. as a thumb i thought it was water ... did i get a surprise!!! lol ..... from a sort of island beach scene to a winter icey snow scene in the space of a heartbeat ...

I really like how the border blends in with the inky black row of trees.
Very minimalistic, I like it.
But I have to say I'd prefer a tiny bit cropped off the top - the sky is good, but it would be nice to be nearer the thirds imho.

Eeee. . .that scares me just hearing about it! I love this. It's so barren and harsh. . .yet the winter blues are so pretty and appealing with the sun lighting the back part of it up!
