My old guy, Buddy, thinking GOOD thoughts....
Took a picture of him while he was looking thoughtful. Thinking of biscuits, no doubt. Bright daylight in the back yard. He's old, and, I think, won't be with us much longer, so I take pictures of him whenever I can.

I cropped the photo, adjusted saturation slightly, brightness and contrast, and resized. Tweaked sat again. Sharpened. Sharpened. Softened.
Well geez...I'm trying.

What a delightful old fellow he is :-) I can tell from the photo how much you love him. Since this challenge was basic editing, I think you did a very good job with post. If it were advanced, or for your own profile, a couple of minor suggestions would be to tone down that blown highlight on Buddy's head (pulls eyes away from his face), brighten up the eyes, and select background then gaussian blur to reduce noise. Great pet portrait!

I wonder if you had run this through "Neat Image" if it might have created a more silky effect on the coat? There is a lot of noise in this image, which si a pity, because it is a great portrait. I might have adjusted Balance/Contrast too, to take down the blown out spots on the ear and chest? Great subject for the challenge.

I like this photo. Its a little too close but the effect is not a distracting one. It makes me feel a lot closer emotionally. Very well done!

Could have used some noise reduction or perhaps a different iso. The light seems bright enough to not have all the noise.

A little noisy but that aside I like the shot you captured. I like the lighting that you captured as well.

I'm trying to nitpick this picture, but that is such a wonderful pooch that I'm throwing out all of the technical imperfections, and grinning from ear to ear just looking at that face. What a kind ol' soul.
