This is the back of our house -- At the end of the day, this is where all the cares of my day melt away. My husband usually grills dinner, and we sit outside on the deck, sometimes we have a beer and solve the problems of the world. For me. ..it's a great place to come home to :)

And whenever I get whiny about the Texas heat, I try to remember that yes. . .we can sit out on the deck in February and cook and have a cold beer -- maybe cozied up in a blanket with the chimnea going -- but comfy nonetheless :)

And that's Milly on the deck. Our "sweetest in the world" mutt member of the family :)

What a happy memory this brings back, as I am a lucky guy who with my wife got to spend a couple of evenings on this beautiful deck. What's even more beautiful, to everybody who reads this, are the two people who live in this home. Bill and Sandy, you are the best!!!!!!

it looks really nice. you're lucky to have such a nice place.

my man is on his way to dallas right now. i'm very envious, and can't believe i didn't get our passports done in time. he'd better bring back some warmer weather, 'cause it's freezing here!

The photo conveys so nicely what you've written in the text. Though I'm missing snow where I live (especially with all the dramatic snow pics in this project), I sometimes wish I had weather like yours so that I could enjoy my backyard more often, too (PS: I understand it's politically incorrect to call a dog a mutt; they're to be called "All American Breeds" -- that makes me laugh, but I used to do animal rescue work and got a yelling at more than once for calling a dog a "mutt" -- but I still do it (that's what I have) - LOL).

That's a cracking deck, think of me while you are sitting on your comfy chair with a nice cold beer as I am trying to scrape the ice off my car after slipping down my front path, so that I can get some hot gruel so that I might feel warm again...................

This is a happy looking back porch! I am happy that you have a good place like this to kick back and relax at home. It certainly helps with keeping the creative juices flowing to have a place to restore yourself.

this looks very peaceful! What does the view from the patio look like?

Sandy, it looks like this picture could use a slight rotation counterclockwise to really even it out. Other than that, this is great, and can I come visit and chill for a while?

I can see you sitting with a cup of iced tea at the table. Anyway, nice and warm looking. Watch your lines, though, in processing. You might need to straighten at times, and this one probably could use a bit of compositional straightening.

Nice view! It's a little too chilly here to grill and eat out back this time of year. I do miss the Texas sunshine a bit, though.

Thats a great deck! I used to have one ofthose outdoor chimney's too until a storm knocked it over. Your pooch is a nice touch to makes this shot feel like home.

Nice flippin' patio Sandy!! Gotta chair for me? I grew up in South Texas and I can remember the mild winters vividly as I freeze my a** off up here in Iowa.

How nice! The idea of sitting outside with a cold beer in February is very appealing. Not so many opportunities here in Chicago right now. Temp is 7F (-15 C). Roll on Spring!

Love this photo of your home Sandy, as I feel that it makes us more real in a sense. I love to sit with you enjoying one of those grilled meals, while we saved the world..... Thank you for sharing it with us.
