Heh... can't believe I misspelled "heroes."

Nice journalistic image. Nice transitional moment for this family. |

I'm not too far from this site (being from Montana originally 600 miles is a short distance for me) and have yet to make it there.
This is very sacred ground to our nation on a whole and a wonderful idea for thsi challenge. As for the shot itself, including the people and their emotions is a very good idea but I think I would have liked it more if it showed more of the memorial itself. The clarity is there as is the lighting, I started with a 6 am going to a 7 |

I'd have tried to pick different visitors -- I think the guy with the drink and the cigarette detract from the mood you're trying to create. Unless this is a commentary on our transitory and cavalier attitudes ....
Added note: the slight motion blur on his hands fooled me into seeing the objects as different than they are, lending a completely different feel and context to the photo. I'm leaving the original comment as an example of how easy it is to misinterpret what we see, especially if we are looking quickly and superficially. |

'Heroes', with an e. Don't really like this shot - but I DO like the contrating attitude of the young girl - the evident misery of the adult couple, and the poor young thing just looks bored, scuffing away at the gravel with here foot ... or am I just imagining things |

Its touching to see a bowed head and a man crying, even disturbing- but if its drama your going for- zoom in on ht eface of that sad, sad man |

the trio of people is a nice composition, descending in hight as the flags and angels descend across the picture. The grass makes a nice simple background. |

How lucky you are to have been there, it must of been very emotional. Good capture of the feeling that must be there. |
