 This is my favorite orchid- I bought it six years ago and have dragged it across the country with me, and it blooms faithfully about every eight months.

Backlit it with a compact fluorescent. Curves and sharpen in Lighroom, more sharpening and border in Photoshop.

The colour of the flower against the black background works well and the focus on the end of the petal is nice an sharp. I wonder if the shot would be more dynamic if the perspective was down the petal into the flower.
