Slightly contrasted and curved .

As for the setting shot.
I place a blue paper behind the water tape
so then it generates good blue colour effect on the droplets.

Taken with flash on.
1/60th second turned out fine isolation.

comments: I was just looking at a similar image from the first Shallow DOF challenge. I like this idea and you've done well to pull it off but I wish the black item had a bit more familiar shape in the droplets. It just appears as a blob and doen't help the image any.

I don't like the large black spot. I can't tell what it is. Perhaps your DOF is a bit too shallow.
