Very nice. Even the haze in the background seems to contibute to the run-down and abandoned look of the building. Telephone pole detracts from the image, but I guess they are very hard to move! :) |

I think this photo would have been really great if you had done two things- angled your lense up and to the right and from a lower perspective. This would have eliminated the distracting road and telephone pole and created an almost diagonal foreground and given the photo an amazing amount of depth. Hope this critique helps. |

Very original and interresting scene. Lighting was'nt at his best but that's a very good picture. I like the way it fit with this book title. |

I like the colors in this picture. It feels very British. Now I look I could have gotten that from the road markings - but the colors say England to me. I'm not sure what the expectaions are (knowing the story I realize the crumbling monument to the past...) I think it would be more cohesive cropped in on the barn with the sheep in the fields behind - a vertical composition. Or actually include the tree on the right - I'd miss that if it were lost. So scratch the vertical comment - more of a square composition. What do you think? |

Interesting subkect; I think a closer view, or maybe a tighter crop, would have suited it better, as well as getting better light on it. |
